Ringette Nova Scotia’s Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday May 29, 2010 at 9:00 am, at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel, 1919 Upper Water Street, Halifax, NS.
At the 2010 AGM, the Board of Directors will be seeking approval for a change to our Bylaws which will affect the structure of the Board of Directors. The proposed structure does not represent a major change, however it aligns better with our values and strategy, with a strong emphasis on Athlete Development. A presentation of the new structure, including position descriptions, will be made at the Central Region Ringette Association AGM on April 21, 2010.
Based on the new Board structure, the following positions will be up for reelection at the RNS Annual General Meeting:
- VP Administration (similar responsibilities as current 1st VP position)
- VP Finance (similar responsibilities as current Treasurer position)
- Director, High Performance (some of the responsibilities currently in the Director of Provincial Teams and Player Development portfolio)
- Director, Athlete Development (some of the responsibilities currently in the Director of Provincial Teams and Player Development portfolio)
- Director, Officiating (similar responsibilities as current Director of Officials)
- Director, Sponsorship and Fundraising (similar responsibilities as current Director of Fundraising)
Current board members will declare their intention to reoffer by April 29, 2010. Any member of RNS may nominate an individual by providing notice to the Nominations Committee by May 13, 2010. For further information regarding nominations to the RNS Board of Directors, please contact Janet Ferguson, Chair of the Nominations Committee.
