RNS Provincial Award Recipients [4/13/2010]

Ringette Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the 2010 Provincial Award Recipients, who have demonstrated extraordinary contribution to RNS either through exemplary leadership or achievement in the past season. The award recipients are listed below, along with a very short description of their major achievement or contribution.

Coach of the Year
Dan MacIssac, Coached the NS 18+ Team in playoff victory over NB to earn a spot at 2010 NRL Championship
Athlete of the Year
Lauren Morse, Canada East, 2009 IRF U19 World Ringette Championship
Official of the Year
Chris Clarke, Level 4B Official, Master Instructor, Supervisor, Evaluator and Mentor
Team of the Year
2008/09 NS U14 Team (Coach: Dana Mason), Gold Medal at 2009 Eastern Canadian Ringette Championship
Association of the Year
Dartmouth Ringette Association, Innovative Programs (Wanna Play?), 163% Increase in U9 Division, Governance
Volunteer of the Year
Marlene Connell, Sport Builder with over 30 years dedication to Berwick Ringette and Ringette Nova Scotia

Each Provincial Award Winner has now been nominated by Ringette Nova Scotia for the RICOH Sport Awards offered through Sport Nova Scotia, where they will be considered along with the top nominees from other Provincial Sport Organizations.

The Selection Committee would like to thank all Ringette Nova Scotia members who submitted nominations for these awards, and congratulate the award winners on their achievement.
