Ringette NS U12 Enrichment Program
The U12 Enrichment Program is a program that provides U12 aged participants the opportunity for further skill development and allows them to get a taste of the competitive stream of play before they opt-into tiered ringette and the Excellence Program at U14. The Program focuses on skill development, ringette specific skills (shooting, passing, receiving the ring), physical literacy, and basic ringette strategy including both offensive and defensive tactics.
The U12 Enrichment Program is open to all U12 aged athletes who are seeking a more competitive athletic experience.
The U12 Enrichment Program exemplifies ethics, fair play, and the True Sport Principles working not only on ringette skills but also on psychological and mental skills. Throughout the program, coaches will emphasize individual and team goal-setting and will strive for improvement and growth.
15 one-hour on-ice sessions with trained RNS Instructors and Technical Coaches that will typically focus on the following:
The program will also include 2 interprovincial jamborees with the NB and PEI U12 Programs. These will be scheduled in December and March (exact dates TBA), and each athlete will compete in a minimum of 2 games at each Jamboree.
Schedule
All sessions take place on Sundays at either HRM 4Pad (12/1 PM) or West Hants Sports Complex (11:30/12:30/1:30 PM). These times will not conflict with athletes' league games.
